Welcome to Spanish class – newsletter

¡Hola amigos!

Welcome back to la clase de Español. My name is Mrs. Hanson and I’m delighted to be part of the St. Cletus School team and to be your Spanish teacher for the 2011- 2012 school year.

For this academic year, I’m looking forward to hearing students speaking Spanish at all times. Middle school students will continue to improve their Spanish grammar, vocabulary, listening, and written skills while learning new Spanish routines, discussing countries such as Spain, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, and Colombia, and making presentations in Spanish. Children in the upper elementary grades will also improve their communicative skills while learning about countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, and Puerto Rico, playing games in Spanish, and practicing role play to improve their pronunciation. Students in the early elementary grades will learn songs and play games such as Hola Don Pepito (Hello Mr. Peter) and Spanish Bingo to practice body parts and classroom objects, and to enhance their pronunciation.  Preschool and kindergarten students will learn songs and play games as well to help them identify animals, numbers, colors, and food items in Spanish.

I am certain that the children will have great success in their foreign language learning this year.

Thank you.

¡Gracias!

Señora Hanson.
